An early 18th-century Georgian oak coffer of solid construction, dating to circa 1720. The piece has a well worn surface with a deep, warm oak patina built through use and age.

The front is traditionally panelled, with good weight and proportion, and retains the honest irregularities expected of early Georgian country furniture. Pieces of this type were made for daily use, which accounts for their enduring practicality today.

Internally, the coffer provides generous storage and would have originally served as a blanket or utility chest. The perfect designer piece to add age and patina to a contemporary interiors, working equally well in a hallway, at the end of a bed, or as a low piece in a sitting room. This piece beautifully shows evidence of its period in the timber, wear, and construction.

Available to view in Dublin. Delivery and collections can be arranged.
